Where to start.
Tonight had a cake tasting for my friends' upcoming wedding. They gave good views on flavors and what they were wanting. So overall a good event. Now what is shocking to me, namely unexpected, during all this, the bride's father pulled me somewhat to the side and gave me a few of his business cards. He then asked me if I'd be interested in being commissioned by him to make cupcakes. He shows open houses for a relator and it'd be a great thing to have fresh cupcakes or cookies at the open houses to bring in possible buyers AND have them remember that house more.
Just not something I was expecting from tonight. A good tasting party, yes. A new job per-say, not so much. But of course I said yes and gave my contact info so hopefully something will come from it. But sitting here going threw my notes and the business cards he gave me, he snuck some cash in between the cards as a thank you for tonight.
It's little things like that that just send me to the moon and get light headed. It wasn't needed. I mean, I love baking and never expect anything in return more so when it's for my good friends. But still, it's very very sweet.
Think this baking venture is starting to really take off!
